How invoiced subscriptions work when upgrading from a Legacy plan to Premium pricing

This article is intended for customers who:

  • pay for their Harvest subscription via invoice, and
  • are upgrading from a Legacy pricing plan to our new Premium pricing tier.

This switch entails some changes in how an invoiced subscription works, including some that may require action on your part.

Why does switching to the Premium plan involve changes to my invoiced subscription?

Harvest is in the process of updating its billing system and transitioning to a new payment processor. When you upgrade from a Legacy plan to the Premium pricing tier, we will also migrate you to the new billing system.

Some details of the invoiced subscription experience are different between the two billing systems, in some cases for technical reasons and in others for a better customer experience.

What about my invoiced subscription will change?

These changes may require some action on your part:

  • Invoices can only be paid via ACH or bank transfer. Physical check payments are not currently accepted in the new system.
  • The payment remittance details are different in the new system and will be included on your invoices.
    • Please ensure your finance or accounts payable department is aware of this change. They can contact us with any questions or for confirmation of the new details.

Please also note the following changes:

  • Your annual invoice will arrive on your billing date rather than 30 days prior, although we will still send a reminder one month in advance.
  • In addition to the invoice itself, you’ll also receive a receipt once we confirm payment.

Are there other changes I should be aware of?

Yes, some billing aspects will change for any account migrating to the new billing system, regardless of how they pay. For example, you’ll now be able to schedule a decrease in your paid seat count or a switch from yearly to monthly payment.

You can learn more about how billing works in the new system in the Version 2 billing section of the Help Center.
