Overview of the Premium free access period for Legacy customers

As part of a recent pricing update, we’ve introduced a new pricing tier, Premium, that includes new features not available to Harvest customers on Legacy pricing plans.

We’re excited to give those customers 30 days of free access to the Premium plan so you can test drive those additional features. During this period, you aren’t committing to anything—at the end, you can choose to upgrade to Premium and retain those features, or you can stay on your Legacy pricing plan with the feature set you’re used to.

This article provides an overview of the Premium free access period. If you have additional questions, please read our Premium free access period FAQ.

Additional features you’ll see during the Premium free access period

With the profitability report, you can visualize revenue, costs, and margin for your company, projects, clients, teams, and tasks.

You can review the activity log for a clear audit trail of changes made to timesheets and projects.

You can require notes on all your team’s time entries, to ensure that every entry has additional detail about the work done.

SAML-based single sign-on (SSO) enhances security while simplifying the sign-in experience. Note that this feature can only be enabled after upgrading to the Premium plan, not during the free access period.

How permissions affect the Premium free access period

Administrators will be able to see all Premium features and use their full functionality (with the exception of SAML-based SSO during the free access period).

Managers and Members will see that notes are now required if that setting is enabled. In the activity log, they’ll only be able to see their own data and, for Managers, the data of any people and projects they manage. For details, please see our overview of the activity log and click through to the articles on each aspect (timesheet, approval, and projects).

Managers and Members cannot see the profitability report at all.

What happens at the end of the Premium free access period

At the end of the Premium free access period, you can choose to either upgrade to Premium and retain the new features, or remain on your current plan and revert to the Legacy feature set.

If you choose to remain on your current plan, your pricing, features, and integrations will all remain the same as they were before the free access period. If you were part of an early access program for any Premium features (for example, a beta), your account will also revert to the standard Legacy feature set.

For more details about either upgrading to Premium or remaining on your Legacy plan, please see our Premium free access period FAQ.
