How can I enter a credit in Harvest?

Harvest doesn’t have a credit note feature or a way to specifically track credit. The best way to issue a credit to your client is to deduct the credit from their next invoice. You can do that by editing your invoice to add a line item with a negative value. Here’s how:

  1. Click the Add item button that appears beneath the existing line items on the invoice.Add Item
  2. Enter your description.
  3. In the Unit price field, enter your credit amount preceded by a minus sign (-). The minus sign will tell Harvest to deduct this amount from your invoice.Negative Line ItemThe Amount due on the invoice will now reflect the initial fee minus the credit.
