Can I write off time or manually mark it as invoiced?
In Harvest, you are able to write off entire invoices, but not individual time entries. If you’d like to keep a record of outstanding debt from unpaid time, we’d suggest creating an invoice for that time and writing it off.
However, if you aren't going to invoice via Harvest but you’d still like your reports to reflect the invoicing you’ve completed elsewhere, Administrators can mark hours as invoiced from a detailed time report. To do so:
- Head to Reports > Detailed time.
- Filter by timeframe, project, teammate, and/or task for those hours and click Run detailed time report.
- From the Actions dropdown, select Mark hours as invoiced to lock the entries.
- Confirm the action.
This will lock the entries against editing, and, for Time & Materials projects, they'll be subtracted from the uninvoiced amount as though they'd been invoiced in Harvest.
This can also be helpful if you choose to import historical time from another source. Once imported, you can mark any time that’s been invoiced previously so that your reporting will be accurate going forward.
