Mobile app: Troubleshooting

If you’re having trouble using the mobile app for iPhone or Android—whether it's freezing sporadically, responding slowly, or not showing updated project information—here are some general troubleshooting steps you can take. There are also separate articles with information about unsynced entries as well as accessing Harvest from an iPad.

If you don’t remember your password, go to https://id.getharvest.com in a web browser and click Forgot your password? to request a password reset email.

Make sure your device’s date and time are being set automatically

For iPhone:

  1. From your device's home screen, tap the Settings app icon.
  2. Tap General, then tap Date & time.
  3. Make sure Set automatically is switched on.

For Android (exact steps may vary, depending on your device's manufacturer):

  1. Go to the device's Settings.
  2. Search for and go to Date and time.
  3. Make sure the Automatic date and time setting is toggled on.

Make sure you’re using the latest version of the app

For iPhone (we support the latest version of the Harvest for iPhone app on the two most recent iOS versions):

  1. Go to the App Store on your device and search for Harvest (the app is listed as Harvest: Track Time & Invoice).
  2. Tap UPDATE.

For Android:

  1. Go to the Google Play Store on your device and search for Harvest (the app is listed as Harvest: Track Time & Invoice).
  2. Tap UPDATE.

Clear cache

For iPhone and Android:

  1. In the app, tap the Account icon (lower right).
  2. Select Advanced.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Uninstall and reinstall the app

For iPhone:

  1. From your device's home screen, tap and hold the Harvest app icon until the icon starts to wiggle.
  2. Tap Delete App in the alert.
  3. Download and install Harvest for iPhone again from the App Store.

For Android (exact steps may vary, depending on your device's manufacturer):

  1. From your device’s home screen or list of apps, tap and hold the Harvest app icon, then tap Uninstall.
  2. Download and install Harvest for Android again from the Google Play Store.
