Members: Accessing your company’s Harvest account

Welcome to Harvest! This article lays out the steps for accessing your company’s Harvest account so that you can join your team and start tracking time. We’ve also included some tips for signing in on a day-to-day basis. 

Signing in for the first time

To access your team’s Harvest account for the first time, you’ll need to accept an invitation, even if you’re already on another account for Harvest or our other tool Forecast.

When an Administrator in the account creates your user profile, an invitation email with the subject “[Administrator’s name] has invited you to join Harvest” will be generated and sent to your email address. 

If you haven’t received an email invitation, we recommend searching your email account for messages from notifications@harvestapp.com. The invitation may have gotten caught in a spam folder or auto-filter. If a search doesn’t surface the message, or if the invitation link has expired, you can ask the Administrator to re-send the invitation from the account’s Team section.

To accept the invitation and access the account, click the Join [Administrator's name] in Harvest button in the email. Accepting the invitation is the only way to join your team’s account. When you click the button to join, you will go to a screen where you can either sign in with Google (if your company uses Google Workspace or Gmail email addresses), sign in with SAML (if your team has enabled signing in via Okta or Microsoft Entra ID), or create a password before signing in. If your company requires signing in with Google or signing in with SAML via Okta or Microsoft Entra ID, you’ll be asked to sign in that way even if you create a password. You may also need to set up two-factor authentication.

Note: If you head to https://www.getharvest.com independently to set up an account, you might create a new, separate trial account for yourself that is not connected to your team—although the system will first ask you whether you intended to accept the pending invitation instead.

Signing in after the first time 

You can sign in to your Harvest account from https://id.getharvest.com. If you have a Gmail or Google Workspace email address, you can click the Sign in with Google button. Your company may even require this type of sign-in. If your team requires signing in with SAML, then you'll need to click Sign in with SAML. Otherwise, you can enter your email and password and click Sign in. If your company requires two-factor authentication, you'll then need to enter a code generated on an authenticator app or sent to you by email.

If you have multiple accounts with us—which may include Forecast accounts—you can then select the account you’d like to access. Once you’re in a specific account, you can switch to a different one by clicking your name at the top right of any page and selecting Switch accounts.

A quick way to access a specific Harvest account is to bookmark the account’s web address in your preferred browser. When you’re signed in to the account, you can find the URL in the address bar of your browser window. Each Harvest account follows the same URL template: COMPANY.harvestapp.com (where COMPANY is specific to your company’s account).
